From November 25 to December 1 in Marseille, PriMed 2018 offers to the public free screenings with films shot in Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Spain, France, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey.
The 22nd PriMed presents shocking documents and shocking images among its 25 films (selected from 388 works received at the CMCA): “Strange fish” where the Tunisian fishermen help migrants, “Libya, anatomy of a crime “on the rape of men as a weapon of war,” Ashbal, the lion cubs of the Caliphate “children raised in jihadist propaganda,” Tribute to Kobane “a tour of the Kurdish city destroyed through the writings of a young fighter, etc …
Of the 25 films selected, 14 are presented in national preview. Notably, “Birth, Marriage, Death, Three Stages of Life” by Asuman Atakul Firtina (Turkey), “Beyond the Lens: Lacroix, Dali” by Celine Formentin and Antonio Perez Molero (Spain), documentary that retraces the meeting of a couple of photographers with Salvador Dali. Among the other themes covered in the films of the selection: The roads of exile from yesterday to today – Growing in the Mediterranean – Humans facing the war – Mediterranean (women’s journey and their struggles) – When the art goes beyond our limits – The environment as a mirror of man.
Almost all screenings will be followed by a debate in the presence of directors who can sometimes be accompanied by the protagonists of their films. Admission is free with the limits of available places. All projections are held at the Alcazar Library.

Note that public awards the Best Mediterranean Short Film Award. People has the opportunity to vote for his favorite film after a special afternoon of screenings on Sunday, November 25 at Mucem, from 15h.
A jury of audiovisual professionals, chaired by Gisèle Khoury, a Lebanese journalist, will award 4 prizes and 1 special mention. Young jurors will give the Mediterranean Youth Award. New for this edition: the “Me, citizen mediterranean” prize. It rewards two productions made by high school students from their smartphone. The theme of this year: “My gesture for the planet”. Broadcasting Prizes will be awarded by 3 television channels (2M (Morocco), France 3 Corsica ViaStella and Rai 3 (Italy).
This year 3,500 high school students from the PACA Region, and all the Mediterranean (Algeria, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia) participate in PriMed. They will award the Mediterranean Youth Award, screenings / debates, a video contest are dedicated to them.
