The Mediterranean Center for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA) is a partner of the Mediterranean Journalism Forum (Assises Méditerranéennes du Journalisme), which will take place in Marseille from April 28 to 30, 2025.
This major event brings together journalists from Africa and the Mediterranean to exchange ideas about the future of journalism in the face of current geopolitical and media upheavals.
The forum’s program offers a space for open dialogue, encouraging the sharing of experiences and addressing key topics such as peace, security, climate, migration, media literacy, and the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
A variety of formats will be featured, including plenary sessions, debates, workshops, and a forum highlighting inspiring media initiatives.
As part of its ongoing commitment to media education and journalism, CMCA is organizing a special screening of the film “Malta, in the Name of Daphne” by Jules Giraudat.
Aimed at high school students, the screening will take place on April 29, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the Pharo (Room 76).
On the occasion of the training course “AI for Journalists and Television”, also organized by CMCA in Marseille from April 28 to 30, 2025, participating journalists from Mediterranean broadcasters are invited to take part in the Mediterranean Journalism Forum.
The trainees will attend sessions on the afternoon of April 29 (2:00–5:00 p.m.) and throughout the day on April 30 (10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
This immersive experience offers them a valuable opportunity to dive into key reflections and challenges facing journalism in Africa and the Mediterranean. The Forum stands as a unique platform for dialogue, debate, and collaboration among media professionals from the region.
Marseille, as a Mediterranean crossroads, is emerging as a central hub for establishing a landmark gathering in support of freedom of expression and high-quality journalism in close connection with Africa.
