The CMCA and its partners, France 3 Corse Via Stella and France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, launched the Court Med competition last January. It was aimed at young people from one of the countries of the Mediterranean basin, aged between 18 and 30 years old.
87 films from 17 countries were entered in the documentary, report and fiction categories.
A record for a first edition!
Five works* by young directors and students were selected from the films received. They come from Spain, Israel, Tunisia and Slovenia.
France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur opens its antenna to three of them, on May 22 at 11:30 p.m. as part of the program “Culture in your region”.
“Seeing myself through” by Berta Saura 15′, fiction – Spain
Delia navigates through the immense ocean of her memories. She finds herself lost in a maze of thoughts and moments, unaware that she is getting closer and closer to her most feared memory, the one she has tried to forget and avoid for so long. “Siba” by Donna Hawa 15’, fiction – Israel
Young Palestinian Siba finds herself forced to make a big decision after being caught with her secret boyfriend, Peter. Siba manages to escape all the rumors around her to finally face her biggest fear: marriage.
“Threads” by Iza Mlakar 14’, fiction – Slovenia
When Julija, an aspiring fashion designer, moves into her new apartment, she hears through the walls that her neighbors – a young father, Dušan, and his daughter, Evelin, have a difficult relationship. After some worrying interactions, Julia decides to become Evelin’s ally.
