CMCA with the collaboration of National Audiovisual Institute (INA), opens a new session of its training program dedicated to writing reports based on audiovisual archives. This 19th edition will take place from June 15 to 19, 2026, in Marseille.

Designed for journalists with at least three years of experience within the television networks of the CMCA, this training offers an immersion into the editorial, technical, and heritage challenges linked to the use of archives.

A cross-disciplinary approach between memory and storytelling
At the heart of the program: learning how to build a journalistic narrative from archival footage. Participants will explore the INA Méditerranée collections and become familiar with the principles of preservation, selection, and exploitation of these resources.
Practice-oriented training
Organized as a workshop, the program alternates between theoretical sessions and hands-on exercises. The first two days focus on exploring the archives with INA experts.
The third day addresses writing challenges and knowledge sharing, including a meeting with journalists from France Télévisions. Participants then produce a short report, combining archival footage and new filming. Guided by professionals, they have access to pre-selected archive collections from INA Méditerranée, as well as filming and editing equipment.
This training aims to strengthen the use of archives in journalistic practice and to support professionals in evolving their storytelling formats.
