MEDIMED, the Euro-Mediterranean documentary market and pitching forum, is launching its call for projects and new documentary productions. The 23rd edition will take place in Sitges, Spain from October 13 to 16, 2022.
MEDIMED is an international documentary market specialized in the promotion and distribution of films and new projects from the European Union and Mediterranean countries. The objective is to promote dialogue between televisions, professionals and independent producers as well as to develop the financing and the circulation of films in these territories and around the world.
Regarding applications, productions must be recent (2021-2022) and from a European or Mediterranean country. They must be documentaries of a length suitable for television. All genders are accepted. The event offers a PITCHING FORUM. Directors and producers have the opportunity to present their film in public to leading international curators in order to initiate a co-production. Documentary projects registered in the PITCHING FORUM must have covered 25% of the budget and/or have obtained the agreement of a broadcaster/co-producer.
For the ANTI PITCH section, films at the advanced stage of editing (rough cut) are accepted. Regarding the SPEEDY PITCH section, recent projects in development and without financial support are also welcome.
Submissions are free and open until June 30, 2022.
