The Mediterranean Center for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA) is hosting an exceptional evening dedicated to the award-winning short films from the second edition of CourtMed. In partnership with France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and France 3 Corse Via Stella, the screening will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., at the Vidéodrome 2 cinema in Marseille.
THE PROGRAM
Four awarded films will be screened:
- Romanian Beauty – documentary (10 min, 2024) by Razvan Dima (Romania): a look at the frenetic urbanization of a Black Sea resort, where the unique flora is threatened and the inhabitants are left to fend for themselves.
- Bulle – fiction (17 min, 2024) by Lynn Morkos (Lebanon): the story of a widowed mother of three, overwhelmed by the demands of daily life, and the sister who decides to intervene.
- Christmas Is Coming – documentary (14 min, 2024) by Lucija Katarina Šešelj (Croatia): As Christmas approaches, Zagreb lights up… but is it really the atmosphere we’re looking for?
- TerredeDieu – fiction (15 min, 2024) by ImadBenomar (Morocco): Hassan, a civil servant, and Malika, a police officer, accompanied by a trainee, must deliver two coffins… but a mistake will see them swap bodies. And the drama begins.
A fifth film, Geamăna (documentary, 30 min, 2022) by German director Matthäus Wörle, will also be presented. It traces the disappearance of a Romanian village beneath the waste from a copper mine, symbolized by the church spire, which emerges alone from the toxic sludge.
This screening is a superb opportunity to discover emerging voices in Mediterranean cinema—filmmakers who explore contemporary, politically engaged themes that are often overlooked on the big screen. Thanks to CourtMed, they benefit from increased visibility and a unique platform for expression.
