SCREENING OF THE FILM “UN PASTEUR”

The CMCA, in partnership with the Méouge Libraries, is organizing a screening of the documentary Un Pasteur (A Shepherd) by Louis Hanquet on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. in Ballons.

Winner of an award at the 28th PriMed festival, Un Pasteur immerses the viewer in the daily life of Félix, a melancholic and reserved young shepherd living in southeastern France.
His life, both simple and poetic, unfolds in a stark and isolated landscape where an invisible threat looms: the wolf. Between the solitude of the mountains, the care he gives his lambs, and the age-old practices of his profession, Félix embodies a timeless world, imbued with gentleness and resilience.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with director Louis Hanquet, who will share behind-the-scenes insights into the film and his perspective on contemporary pastoral life.

Director : Louis HANQUET (France)
Production : Little Big Story (France)

In southeastern France, Félix, a melancholic and secretive young shepherd, leads a timeless life in a stark, inaccessible world where an invisible threat lurks: the wolf. Solitude pervades his days in the mountains, filled with tending lambs, building fences, and finding poetry.

After studying documentary filmmaking in Buenos Aires and Paris, Louis Hanquet assisted Sébastien Lifshitz on the sets of Adolescents and Little Girl. He also worked as director of photography on award-winning documentaries, including Victor Missud’s The Forest of Space. A Shepherd is his first feature-length documentary.
