PriMed UNVEILS ITS 30th EDITION

The PriMed, the Mediterranean Film Festival, presented its 30th edition at a press conference held at the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Council building in Marseille.

Organized by the Mediterranean Center for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA), PriMed will celebrate its 30th anniversary from November 28 to December 5, 2026, in Marseille (Alcazar Library, City Hall 1 & 7, Mucem, Artplexe Canebière). The South Region, the festival’s main partner, represented by Christophe Madrolle (President of the Commission for Biodiversity, Sea and Coastline, Regional Natural Parks, and Risks – Preparation for the World Conservation Congress), reaffirmed its support for this event dedicated to documentary filmmaking and dialogue among Mediterranean peoples.

This anniversary edition promises to be particularly rich, with 24 documentaries selected from a record 607 submissions, 11 French premieres, and 22 free screenings open to the public. The program also includes meetings with directors, discussions, and, for the first time, the Mediterranean Documentary Co-production Meetings, organized in partnership with the INA (National Audiovisual Institute).

The festival will also continue its commitment to young people through the Mediterranean Youth Prize, which engages more than 3,800 middle and high school students from both shores of the Mediterranean.

Thirty years after its creation, PriMed continues to make Marseille a key venue for encounters, reflection, and sharing around the major challenges facing the Mediterranean.

From November 28 to December 5, 2026 – Marseille
