MARCELLO FOA NEW PRESIDENT OF RAI GROUP

The Parliament Commission for the Supervision of Public Broadcasting, under the swallow of the Italian government,  agreed to appoint Marcello Foa as new RAI President. The Swiss-Italian journalist succeeds to Monica Maggioni as head of Italian public broadcasting.
Foa is chairman of the Rai since September 26, he announced to remain “guarantee of pluralism” of the Italian public broadcasting.

Marcello Foa is graduated in political science and began his career at the Gazzette Ticinese in 1984. He joined five years later the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, in which he was appointed head of the foreign service. He left it in 2011 to be the director of the Swiss press group Timedia Holding SA and of the Swiss-Italian daily Corriere del Ticino.
